Hello Kitties,
Very, very soon we leaving for the big world out there. This weekend I had my very last visit at the Library, and it was raining "cats and dogs," so we did not have many readers there. Our friend L. at the library wrote a really nice flyer about our "reading to the cat" goodbye program, special just for me! I felt very sad to be leaving her and the kids at the library. I promised to come back often. Later this week I am having my last visit to one of my favorite Nursing Homes.
We spent some time packing this weekend. This is what my sister thinks about packing <-, apparently! We are almost ready to go!

Figlet

Hi Kitties,
Today I am humming "row row row your boat" with the words "read read read your book". I think it is very clever. I am sitting on the old HP laptop right now and staring out the window at some snow while mommie writes down what I want to say on the new MacBook. My sister and I both take turns sitting on the laptop, because it is the perfect size plus it has a snuggly cover on it. My sister is taking a nap on the bed instead, which is funny for her because she usually does not sleep in the mornings.
This Saturday I had an excellent visit to the library. As always we had a lot of little kiddos reading to me, which I enjoyed very much! Of course, I got a lot of treats and pettings. One of my favorite friends read me a book about Barney, and I also heard a lot about felines. I have also written my own book, which is just about me, with pictures, all about my life, from when I was born to pictures of everyone in my family, which some of the kids read to me too. Everyone likes that book, especially the part about my sister Veronica. You can see the book behind me, it has a beautiful antique silver cover. I am very fancy.
Tonight I am going to see my Nursing Home friends! I hope the snow stops, because I do not like to go outside much when it is snowing!
Love,
Fig-boat
Kitties,
An entire paragraph about me on the library website today!
"The weather outside may be frightful, but the library will be a warm and delightful place for children to read to Figaro, the Caring Paws cat, and several therapy dogs on Saturday, January 23. They will be eagerly waiting for children to read to them. Children may bring favorite books from home or choose some in the children’s department when they arrive at the library."
I cannot wait to go tomorrow!
We also got a crate for the car for the trips to Chicago - one of the puppies on our club outgrew it and our friend J. was giving it away. It is really big and both my sister and I will fit in it. Parents are going to set it up to connect to the seat-belts in the back and pad it on the inside with warm furry blanket. We will be traveling in style!
Love,
Figaro

Hi Kitties,
Well, this morning I had to go to the kitty doctor's office. It was time for my annual checkup and I went to a new vet this time who my mommy really liked but I have to say I am not so sure. I had to get all my shots and I had to have a thermometer to measure my temperature. It was so embarrassing! I also got some heartguard medicine for worm prevention. The only good news is I did a good, good job and did not scratch or bite anyone. Also, because I am a therapy cat I got $5 off my visit fees.
Also this weekend was the library reading program! I have a BIG accomplishment. Usually, I have a room all to myself but this time they made a mistake with scheduling so I had to be in the same room with the therapy dogs. A lot of dogs were there, and I was not scared at all! I did my usual purrs and high fives for everyone! Because it is so close to the holidays, I did not have many visitors since everyone is busy getting ready for Santa Paws.
I got ready for Santa Paws too by decorating our room with a lot of bright lights and hanging up our stocking. We also set up a menorah for good measure, and we will put shoes out our window for the elves, and expect the Father Frost to come for New Years. I hope I get a lot of good gifts to eat - since we celebrate so many of the holidays it is bound to happen! This year for the holidays we adopted a goat.
Happy Hannukah!
Love,
Figaro

Hi Kitties,
I almost forgot to post today, about last night's visit to the Nursing Home, and this morning's visit to the Library for Story Time. I have been to that Nursing Home many times so of course I got to see all my favorite friends there. And also, some new people.
But this morning was my very first day for Story Time. It is not the same as the Reading program which is older children, this is smaller children who don't read yet. We listened to a story about a cat and had a 'show and tell' all about me. The children wanted to know what I eat and what I use my whiskers for. Then everyone petted me, of course. There were about 6 children at Story Time. My friend M. was there, who comes with her older sister to the reading program. I am going again later this week because the theme of Story Time this week is "cats." My sister Veronica got invited to go instead of me one of the days but she is too shy. I got to go in my Stroller because it was not a Delta-visit.

Figaro

Hi Kitties, Here is a story about us at the library. You can see a lot of the doggies in my club. And a lot of my friends who come to read to me. I had a very good time!

Hi Kitties,
I had a great time this afternoon at the library so I wanted to post about it right away! My mommie was busy and said that she has to work on her grant proposal for one half of a million dollars but I think this is much more important, so she took a break on writing and is helping me with my bloggy.
When we were driving to the library, we had some traffic with the basketball game so we were a little bit late. I do not understand basketball, I do not think it is very fun because there are no mouse toys to play with in basketball.
When we got to the library, all the spots on the first floor were taken, so we parked in the "Library Employees Only" spot! I think I am a little bit like a library employee because being a Therapy Cat is my job and I was doing my job at the library. The librarian who is named L. said that it is okay for us to park there. Whew!
A lot of children were waiting to see me when I got to the library! I got to hear a story right away. First I heard a nice story about a Baby's Christmas. I really liked it because I am a baby (kitty), and I like Christmas! Then, I heard a story about Strawberry Shortcake. That story had a pink kitty in it. Then, I heard a story about a pig and his pancake. I thought that story was very silly and funny! Then, I heard a story about Mittens who is a cat. In that story, Mittens the cat finds a good hiding spot. I liked it so I jumped out of my stroller and hid under it. Then, I heard about some scary dragons. That story was a little bit scary so I stayed in my hiding spot. The boy who read to me about the dragons told me that he celebrates Hannukah, which is great because I am also a part Jewish kitty. I told him Happy Hannukah. I also told Happy Christmas to some of the other children, and I handed out my cards with my happy holidays picture on them. On the back I also wrote my blog address so that the children would come to visit me. (I hope they do!)
After the reading, my friend C. came over and petted me some more. She also held me. She said I am a very nice cat. She is also a very nice girl, I liked getting petted.
Then we went home. Right now I can barely keep my eyes open because I have had such a long day! I am going to get nice and cuddly on my blanket, make some purrs, and take a nap.
Cuddles,
Figaro

On Saturday I visitated the library. Since it is the first time at the library, I had to learn to be very good and talk in my inside voice. I am pretty good at that. For the library reading program, the children read me a lot of books. A lot of children wanted to read me about Pokemon. I did not know there were so many interesting Pokemons. I also heared a story about a fish. I was very very shy and I did not like to get petted at the library because a lot of the children just petted the dogs who come to the reading program before me, so I could smell a lot of dogs!
